Fashion Photography Workshop with Illya Ovchar
Illya Ovchar is an internationally active fashion photographer based between Paris, Milan, and Munich. He regularly creates advertising campaigns and editorial work for leading brands and publications. His recent clients include HUGO BOSS, Vogue Scandinavia, TUSH, and more.
His work is defined by clarity, precision, and strong visual thinking, where technique supports the image rather than dominates it.
For the first time, he is bringing his expertise to Sweden for an in-person, hands-on workshop.
The day will focus on lighting, color, storytelling, set building, and working within a team all in a practical, production-based environment.

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is designed for photographers who already understand the basics of photography, such as ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.
It is aimed at those interested in portrait and fashion photography, particularly in a studio environment. Prior experience with studio lighting is helpful but not required.
The workshop is built around a hands-on approach. You will have the opportunity to shoot as the main photographer, not just observe.
The Content
We will remove the guesswork from lighting and build a clear, reliable foundation that you can apply in any studio setting. The techniques covered will be relevant for both fashion and portrait photography.
Beyond lighting, we will explore what makes an image truly “fashion,” rather than simply a well-lit photograph of a person in clothes.
This includes working with color, developing visual concepts, building sets, and collaborating with a professional team.
The Experience
This workshop is designed around learning by doing. The goal is for each participant to actively work with light and create their own images throughout the day.
Rather than focusing on pre-defined setups, we will focus on creating images that align with a specific mood and concept.
If you’ve found yourself thinking…
How many lights do I need?
Why doesn’t it look the way I want?
Which light-shaping tools should I use?
How do I achieve a high-end look?
…then this workshop is for you.
